Christmas
Above the fireplace, the stockings are hung up high,
The one with the elf that I made my mom buy,
Soon the socks will be stuffed till they blow up,
There will be nutcrackers and books and tea dolls holding a cup.
Stockings all around the world, in places everywhere,
Different designs like a car with shiny wheels, or a doll with real hair.
Some stockings have the kids’ names,
Those guys are sure to get the requested games.
The tree, oh the Christmas tree!
Gives such jolly vibes to me!
Red and gold, and pink and blue,
So many decorations for me and you!
The shiny tinsel shines under the light,
The piece of branches and leaves, looks ever so bright!
And finally, the star, it glows in the night,
When you look from faraway, the tree is such a great sight!
The children all want to stay up late till midnight,
Just to be able to see Old Saint Nick and his reindeer-pulled ride.
His sack will be full of presents and toys,
Lots of gifts for everyone, girls, and boys.
The sheets on the beds,
Are pulled up tight to their necks
And the last light has been turned off,
As the man on the roof gives a slight cough.
The man in red,
Checks that every child is in bed,
With his hat on his head,
The nice list is slowly checked.
The chimney gives a cough of ash,
As Santa comes down with his ginormous stash.
The gifts and presents overflow in the sleigh,
As Santa Claus takes off to say,
Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
The cookies were delish, and the milk was sweet,
All the children got presents, at least those who did a good deed.
And once again the elves start,
To create the toys that fill up the cart,
All 364 days, they cut and paste and glue,
To invent toys for me and you!
They have cars and planes,
And dolls and trains,
And tea sets and magic tricks,
And cool building bricks.
And then there are the reindeers,
With the cute twitchy ears,
There’s Comet and Blitzen,
And Cupid and Vixen,
And Donner and Dancer,
And Dasher and Prancer,
And the there is Rudolph with the bright red nose.
Together they form such a classic pose.
As well as all the presents and gifts,
You haven’t quite got the gist,
Christmas is about spending time with loved dears,
And not just about the elves and reindeers.
You sing and joke and laugh and have fun.
With your aunt and uncle and your grandpa’s son.
So Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
And spend your year doing things that are right.
